Shannon Got A Hair Cut

Shannon got a hold of some scissors and proceeded to cut her hair. She cut it so close to the scalp that there was no way to fix it. Yesterday I decided to cut it all and this is the result. I think she looks kind of cute with short hair.

Mothers With Daughters That Has Down Syndrome

I know that at one time or another that mothers think about their daughters growing up. I know that I have. My Shannon is going to be 11 on the 21st and she is growing up so fast. The time will come when that time of the month will start. Personally I don't think I want to deal with that. I think it is a personal choice that each parent has to decide what is best for them.

I have to find out what my options are.

If there is anyone with a Down Syndrome daughter that has gone through this I would appreciate any information.

I have been thinking a lot about Shannon's future and what life is going to hold for her. I was just talking to one of her brothers the other day about who would take care of Shannon if anything happened to her dad and I. She has three brothers and one grown sister and I am sure one of them would take care of her but I need to get it taken care of exactly who it is going to be.

The New Dolls

I received a comment that was very nice. I was asked about something that I didn't even know existed. It was about Down Syndrome dolls. My Shannon was not interested in dolls for a long time but she is now. She plays with regular dolls. I know that she is different but I don't treat her any different than I do my other daughter and that includes her toys. I don't want her to feel that she is substandard in any way. Here is the site to check out these new dolls.,9171,1886457,00.html .

I would be interested in your views about this.

Mardi Gras

We went to the parades on Fat Tuesday and Shannon just loved it. She got into the groove of dancing to the music and waving those arms of hers. She got plenty of beads and stuffed animals. We wound up with six walmart bags full of beads. You are probably wondering what in the world is she going to do with all those beads.

Well I keep a few that I like and then I give the rest to my son who is going to be in the St Patrick's Day parade. Guess what? My son's named Patrick.

I hope everyone had a good day. I had a good day but I am paying for it now because I am sore everywhere.

Gonna go for now
